3045 "Safe Haven"
8" x 12" x .5". Acrylic on panel. This simple little painting refers to recent movements of populations moving across borders, due to wars. People in peaceful countries opened their homes to welcome and provide refuge to those who were displaced. The blue element suggests a strong feeling of peace, alongside the warmth and stability in the home and moon shapes. I am indebted to the strong influence of my historical artist-mentor Paul Klee, for the childlike feeling in this painting.
