28" x 22" x 2". Acrylic on canvas. I began this painting with an open idea of improvising with loose areas of cool grey paint against warmer pale neutral colors. I applied a large sweeping textural gesture to wind through the centre of the the composition in a dramatic way. As I applied darker shapes, associations with real life objects, such as a high heeled shoe, began to appear and I felt the composition take on a surreal mood, which I much enjoy.
