7.5" x 7.5" x .5" (plus cradle frame.) Acrylic on canvas. This collage was inspired by the idea of displaced families trying to maintain contact with each-other during periods of geographical conflict. The main character was made up of several small collaged fragments extracted from different news photographs and then painted over. It reflects an influence by the post-war paint, collage and popular-cultural assemblages of the American, Robert Rauschenberg.
