"24 x 30" x 1" Acrylic on canvas. In the UK, during 2022 our Queen Elizabeth celebrated her Platinum Jubilee anniversary to mark her seventy year reign. This painting represents a moment in history when a dignified queenly profiled presence quietly occupies and oversees the larger picture, from the centre. I wanted to use small strongly coloured, defined shapes and dark tonal values to stand out against a large neutral background of greys.
